Morning all.
I’ve been getting a lot of mail wondering, why is everything so quiet? Aren’t you supposed to be releasing a Warthog next week, amongst other things? Well, all this is with good reason – it’s a surprise! I want you all to see it and go “OMG HOW DID THAT THING IN THE BLOG TURN INTO THAT AT THE SHOW!” – it’s ok. We won’t disappoint.

Well, it’s confirmed – Operation Chastity’s Warthog is hitting the road, starting this October with the London MCM Expo! We’re going to plough into it to get it finished in time, with a public unveiling at the show. So, come see us on the 24th and 25th of October at the ExCel centre in London’s Docklands – we look forward to seeing you all!

Been a busy few weeks here at OC HQ. After the media blitz, everything ramped up – a flurry of equipment purchases, prop building, location scouting and writing. The most recent draft of the script is being looked at now and is shaping up really nicely. More after the jump…

Earlier this week I had a chat with Katie Scott from Wired UK to talk about Operation Chastity and fan films in general. That came in the wake of a slew of media interest, which all seems to have originated from a post on Joystiq, which in turn seemingly took information from the media coverage from the French-language Halo fansite, Halo.fr. Crikey, what a long and winding road!

So we fell short of our weekend goal of $3000 - not that it really matters, of course. That’s a massive amount of money to have raised, and I want to thank everyone who donated for the cause. Special mentions go out to Halo.Bungie.Org and Halo.fr for supporting the effort and spreading the word. Lets keep the great work going!

Busy week here at OC HQ – hell, the last month has been very busy. Between script rewrites, prop work and location scouting, it really has been all go – and the day job hasn’t helped with that either! Though don’t get me wrong – I love my job and my fellow employees, as well as the support they give in our efforts for the film. They’re all awesome. Anyway – check the jump for more details!

Yesterday an interview with the French-speaking Halo fansite, Halo.fr, went up – and today, the English translation via their forums!
So, if you want to read, head over to Halo.fr to read the interview, in English or French!
Many thanks to Sirkan for an excellent interview. It was a real pleasure.

So, I spent all of yesterday relocating the Warthog. I have now parted ways with Props Studios, and Gumtree 4×4 (the original vehicle suppliers) were kind enough to get the vehicle on a trailer and drive it down to its new home in Portsmouth.

As I’m sure you’re all aware, several chunks of our site are currently empty. We’re currently working on migrating the Warthog build blog over to here from the Props Studios website, and we’ll be putting up profiles of the props and so on as they are completed. The first is on its way from America, and we’ll be doing a write-up and putting up photos once it’s completed!

Things continues as always over here at OC HQ – lots of travelling, meeting lots of people, recruiting… Just last weekend, the main production crew got together for a big chat up in Leeds in the North of England to talk through ideas and direction. It was great getting together and being able to just talk about the movie in detail. It was equally great meeting all the costumiers and model makers from various universities whose degree shows I’ve been attending. Which brings us to the regular update on new crew!
