As far as I’m aware – all the shots of them firing looked like effects shots, and nobody has gone into detail from WETA about their functionality. It’s hardly a bad thing – more and more films are working on this basis. Indeed, ours will be too! :)

The Magnums and SMGs, as well as our upcoming sniper rifles, Battle Rifles and Assault Rifles will be semi-functional props, like the WETA Battle Rifles.

Are the Magnums and SMGs wooden models or do they really work like the Battle Rifles WETA Studios made?
