OC in the media

By Peter

Earlier this week I had a chat with Katie Scott from Wired UK to talk about Operation Chastity and fan films in general.  That came in the wake of a slew of media interest, which all seems to have originated from a post on Joystiq, which in turn seemingly took information from the media coverage from the French-language Halo fansite, Halo.fr. Crikey, what a long and winding road!

The publicity that has been surrounding our project, as part of our effort to raise funds and get the word out, has been staggering – thank you to everyone for spreading the word and letting everyone know about what we’re doing. The host of Twittering has not gone unnoticed and your words of support, and your efforts, warm my heart. You guys are awesome.

I see that you have a composer for a musical piece. You also have a little bit of Metal also. What other varieties of music are you going to use?

The musical approach to the film is somewhat dictated by the source material – Halo has a sound that needs to be harnessed effectively, while the metal tracks are part of a plot-driven extreme.

Hi, Peter, I just wanted to say your Warthog and Armoury pics are fantastic! With craftsmen of that calibre, this film is going to be awesome.

I found out about your film while browsing your concept artist’s DeviantArt page, and I’m glad I did! I’ll be keeping my eye on this, for sure.

Good luck!

I found out about your film in the OXM Brazilian edition – septemper/2009 They made a history about hardcore fans of games and their creations.

Saw the new concept art for the film and I gotta say, holly shit. My God you guys are talented. It looks like 3 frigates and a cruiser. I also looked at the other concept prints a few months back. In “Panorama” I noticed what look like “Human” weaponry firing at 2 incoming pelicans. Does this concept foreshadow of what is going to be in the film…. like a flashback of a battle hardened marine or something, or is it a skirmish of rebels and the UNSC movie?

The fire is actually streaking plasma rather than human tracer, and the guns are Covenant, not human.

Glad you liked the concept art – Adam really is great, and he will be doing more pieces in future too. :)

And thanks Rafael for letting us know about OXM Brazil – glad to see our coverage really is worldwide!
