The shoot itself was beyond extraordinary, in terms of both quality and scale. With a massive cast and crew on a set that wouldn’t have looked out of place on the lot of a multi-million dollar summer blockbuster, it didn’t feel like I was on the set of a fan film at all. To have this as my first foray into film making, I am indeed a very lucky guy!

I was like a kid in a candy store, a lot of the time. Seeing Marines humping their gear from location to location, the Warthog wheeling up into frame. It’s hard to put it all into words. It was awesome. No, correction. It was EPIC.

Needless to say, it was an absolute blast seeing the Halo universe coming to life before our very eyes. The level of excitement on set was intense. Both the cast and crew were amazing people to work with, and without every last one of them, what we achieved would not have been possible. All I can say is thanks – you guys were the bomb.

We’ll be giving further updates over the coming months as post-production continues. In the mean time, keep your ammo dry, stay frosty, and keep checking back! We have a lot of stuff in store for you.

The Armoury has been updated with new images of our MA5 Assault Rifle and M6G Magnum side arm props, as well as updated images of our Spikers and Spankers. Very shortly I’m going to be introducing some new images and information on the new “Quartermaster” section of the site, showing the progress on our other costumes.

On other fronts, we’ve been working hard on a couple of rewrites and concept artist Adam Burn has been hard at work producing beautiful concept art for the new tweaks. You’ll have to wait to see those, though – we’re not revealing them for a long time…

Lastly, just thought I’d confirm for you all – we’re stepping up work on a teaser trailer. More news as and when we can reveal it!

If you recall, our very first interview was between us and HMB, so you know it must be good. We’ve been nominated for ‘Best Fan-Made Contribution To The Halo Community’, and we are in fine company with some awesome contributors. Just thought I’d let you all know that the Warthog Blog, Armoury section and Multimedia section have all seen updates over the last days – a nice Halo-y gift for you all to enjoy and look over during the festive season!

As you can see, it’s been a while since a big update, so I should probably let you all know what’s been happening!

We’re currently looking into a site revamp, so apologies for any delays or downtimes in the future. We’re hoping to get more updates up with more multimedia content – photos, video and so on – early on in the new year. And yes, I will be taking the time to update the Warthog blog to show the vehicle finished at the MCM Expo back in October.

Lots of new crew have come on since Expo! We can confirm a whole slew of new names – Johnnie Oddball has come forward to produce, and we’ve also brought on Darren Scales, Nick Singer and Michael Vroegop to name but a few.

As mentioned on Twitter, the shoot has been shifted to once again give ourselves better preparation time for the shoot – as the project keeps getting bigger, so too do the requirements. We ask for patience – trust me when I say I am the most anxious person in the world to go out and get this thing shot. This of course also means (also mentioned on Twitter) that casting has been pushed back to late-Spring/early-Summer to fall in line with the shoot.

However, lots of cool stuff coming – Covenant weapons, UNSC arms, our fast-approaching Marine armour, and of course, the Spartan!

So, I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and New Year, and I look forward to a fantastic and successful 2010!

Well, the dust has settled, the Warthog is packed away and I think I’ve just about recovered – MCM Expo was a blast and it seems like you all liked the show we put on. Very pleased, hope you are all too, and now it’s just a case of getting back to work to make sure we have more to show.

We’ll be updating the Warthog blog to cover the lost time between the last big update and our unveiling. A hell of a lot happened in that month, so I hope you’re looking forward to a big old update. We’re already hard at work trying to fix up our turret – more updates on that as and when. Lots more to show on the props side in the coming weeks too – all very exciting stuff!

Lastly, just a little FYI – there is currently a charity auction being hosted by Halo community member Laird in support of gaming and children’s charity Child’s Play. Included in the auction are a pair of limited edition prints of our concept artwork “Pelican Down” and “Nightwatch”, as well as other awesome lots from and signed by Bungie (Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach), 343 Industries (Halo Legends), RoosterTeeth Productions (Red vs. Blue) and other community members.
