Operation Chastity has been nominated for the prestigious ‘Best of Halo 2009′ awards over at HawtyMcBloggy.com, one of (if not THE) leading Halo/gaming blog on the internet! If you recall, our very first interview was between us and HMB, so you know it must be good. We’ve been nominated for ‘Best Fan-Made Contribution To The Halo Community’, and we are in fine company with some awesome contributors. Just thought I’d let you all know that the Warthog Blog, Armoury section and Multimedia section have all seen updates over the last days – a nice Halo-y gift for you all to enjoy and look over during the festive season!

As you can see, it’s been a while since a big update, so I should probably let you all know what’s been happening!

We’re currently looking into a site revamp, so apologies for any delays or downtimes in the future. We’re hoping to get more updates up with more multimedia content – photos, video and so on – early on in the new year. And yes, I will be taking the time to update the Warthog blog to show the vehicle finished at the MCM Expo back in October.

Lots of new crew have come on since Expo! We can confirm a whole slew of new names – Johnnie Oddball has come forward to produce, and we’ve also brought on Darren Scales, Nick Singer and Michael Vroegop to name but a few.

As mentioned on Twitter, the shoot has been shifted to once again give ourselves better preparation time for the shoot – as the project keeps getting bigger, so too do the requirements. We ask for patience – trust me when I say I am the most anxious person in the world to go out and get this thing shot. This of course also means (also mentioned on Twitter) that casting has been pushed back to late-Spring/early-Summer to fall in line with the shoot.

However, lots of cool stuff coming – Covenant weapons, UNSC arms, our fast-approaching Marine armour, and of course, the Spartan!

So, I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas and New Year, and I look forward to a fantastic and successful 2010!

Well, the dust has settled, the Warthog is packed away and I think I’ve just about recovered – MCM Expo was a blast and it seems like you all liked the show we put on. Very pleased, hope you are all too, and now it’s just a case of getting back to work to make sure we have more to show.

We’ll be updating the Warthog blog to cover the lost time between the last big update and our unveiling. A hell of a lot happened in that month, so I hope you’re looking forward to a big old update. We’re already hard at work trying to fix up our turret – more updates on that as and when. Lots more to show on the props side in the coming weeks too – all very exciting stuff!

Lastly, just a little FYI – there is currently a charity auction being hosted by Halo community member Laird in support of gaming and children’s charity Child’s Play. Included in the auction are a pair of limited edition prints of our concept artwork “Pelican Down” and “Nightwatch”, as well as other awesome lots from and signed by Bungie (Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach), 343 Industries (Halo Legends), RoosterTeeth Productions (Red vs. Blue) and other community members. I’ve been getting a lot of mail wondering, why is everything so quiet? Aren’t you supposed to be releasing a Warthog next week, amongst other things? Well, all this is with good reason – it’s a surprise! I want you all to see it and go “OMG HOW DID THAT THING IN THE BLOG TURN INTO THAT AT THE SHOW!” – it’s ok. We won’t disappoint.

If you would like to keep more abreast of developments, check out the Twitter - it contains all my musings, project grumbles and little victories.

The Warthog is still being worked on – the main vehicle (though not necessarily the turret) will be finished by the end of this week for the Expo. We’re hoping upon hope that other items will make it in time too – I’ll let those be a surprise to the attendees.

Hope your Monday is going swimmingly – I will be updating you all on the time of the Warthog unveiling later today.

In the past few weeks, a lot has been going on. Dan has done some great work on the Warthog – more pics to come for addition on the Warthog build page. OC HQ is also now filled with even more uniform and a massive stack of ammunition boxes – all part of the push to get accurate set dressing together.

Perhaps the best news of all, we have new concept art! Adam has really pulled it out the bag for this one, entitled The Drop. Here it is – hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

The publicity that has been surrounding our project, as part of our effort to raise funds and get the word out, has been staggering – thank you to everyone for spreading the word and letting everyone know about what we’re doing. The host of Twittering has not gone unnoticed and your words of support, and your efforts, warm my heart. You guys are awesome.
